Rap Trading is now offering a Joomla! Updating Service
Is your website currently running the most updated Joomla! version?
Most of the websites built by Rap Trading utilize the Joomla! CMS (Content Management System). With certain regularity, a new version of Joomla! is released. It is important for the functioning of your website to regularly update to the newest version. These updates include fixes for irregularities that flow from the use of the CMS as well as security updates. It is important that these updates are maintained and installed, to keep your website running smoothly.
Rap Trading understands that not everyone has the time, ability or motivation to keep track of when the latest versions are released or to go ahead and install these updates. Some people feel insecure about installing such an update as they cannot oversee the consequences of the update to their website.
Therefore, Rap Trading has started a new Joomla! Updating service.
There are two possibilities that we offer: you can allow Rap Trading to do a single update for you or you can buy a punch card system. The punch card system will entitle you to 5 future version updates for your Joomla! website. By utilizing this service you will not need to keep track of the new versions yourself. Rap Trading will inform you, ahead of time, of a new version and when the install will take place.
On average Joomla! releases about 4 to 5 new versions per year.
This service will only apply to minor version updates, for example, if your website runs on Joomla! version 1.5.20, Rap Trading will update it to the latest version, namely Joomla! 1.5.26. This service does not include upgrading or moving to another major version change such as Joomla! 1.5 to version 2.5 or any other website alterations.
Joomla! Component updates.
Some websites make use of additional components within the site to avoid problems and security issues occurring in your website these will also require regular updating. Rap Trading can monitor this for you and install the required updates for you. Similarly, to the Joomla! Update service, we will inform you on a timely basis when a new component update is released and when your site will be updated.
Some components may require additional changes before an update is installed, Rap Trading will inform you of this and make the required changes, before it updates the component version. The cost for this service will depend on the type of component used in the website; Rap Trading will advise you whether it would be better to work with a service/maintenance contract or whether a punch card system would suffice.
Rap Trading offers several possibilities to help you, keep your website running optimally. You can choose for a single update, a punch card (which includes 5 updates) or a full service maintenance contract (we will optimize your website, check website versions, security, install and replace components as required).
Remember, all these updates are “behind the scenes” work and do not affect the front end of the website. It is important to maintain these updates to keep the functionality and security of your site optimum.

One time upgrade: $30,-
Punch card (5 updates): $125,-

All charges are billed in advance.
You will be required to give your approval through a Rap Trading Order Form.
If you already have a full service/maintenance contract with Rap Trading then you are covered, as these services will be performed automatically for you.
